NEW YORK, Jan.26, 2012 -- Two national traffic safety education organizations are inviting teens to help spread the word about the dangers of distracted driving with a contest to find the best youth-generated public service messages for radio.
Entries open Feb. 2 for the second annual JST DRV Radio PSA Contest, sponsored by The National Road Safety Foundation and NSSP, the National Student Safety Program of the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (ADTSEA). See the press release here.
“Teen 2 Teen: Terminate Texting”
USA TODAY Education has partnered with the Allstate Foundation to create the “Teen 2 Teen: Terminate Texting” teen safe driving program and competition specifically for New Jersey middle and high school students. The free program includes a curriculum component (a project-based learning experience) designed to guide students in building and implementing a marketing plan that will influence their peers to stop texting while driving and start adopting safer driving habits.
Upon completion of a class marketing plan, we encourage students to submit their plan into the state competition (deadline March 16). Prizes include a $50 Amazon gift card for up to 30 students and an invitation to present their winning plan to executives at Allstate NJ Headquarters.
